Linda Haggard

Meet Linda Haggard. Linda is an Internal Medicine Specialist, that helps many people with a wide range of services.

Please tell us a little bit about what you do and why you do what you do?

A: I am a Physician Assistant in Internal Medicine. Internal medicine can be a lot of different things. I’m more of an integrative practitioner because I work with people that want to heal themselves. So we work with lifestyle which can be nutrition, it could be exercise, it could be meditation, it could be a lot of different things. If somebody comes to me with a problem, we go through their whole background. I try to take the time to really get to know them as a person so that I can help that person and not just throw  pills at them.

I do other things as well. I do work with patients for bioidentical hormones. When I first started out 30 some years ago, in Ohio, I was the only woman in the practice I worked at.  I would get all the women for female issues, that became my specialty. Then I got into integrative medicine, which wasn’t very popular in Ohio, but I had a following.
I now work with all kinds of things involving hormones, there are sexual problems that both men and women come to me for, I have many tools that are effective.

I do Fillers and Botox. I also do a procedure called the Y-lift, which is fillers, it’s like a non-surgical facelift. It’s done in a little different way where we put the filler underneath the muscle and on top of the bone in specific areas to give a very natural look. It lifts so that it does not look like a facelift,  you don’t have a bunch of cut marks and you don’t have the downtime.

Q: What brought you to Sedona?

A: I had taken some classes from a friend here in Sedona back in the 90s. Even as a kid, I had always said that I’m gonna live here someday. Our family would drive across the country and back because I have a sister that’s a lot older than me who had moved to California. When my youngest child was out of high school and went into college, I found a job, and picked up and moved out here.

Q: What’s your favorite part of Sedona? What do you love about living here?

A: “I love being on the land, whether that’s in Sedona or in Cornville where we live now, it’s just magic and I enjoy it.

Q: What do you do for fun?

A: “Play with my grandkids, ha-ha. And animals and gardening.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

A: “Right now, maybe Farm a Go Go, ha-ha. When we come into Sedona, I like to go to Rene’s.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies?

A: I’m not a movie person. I can’t watch violence, I just can’t watch any of that. I have a hard time sitting still so to watch a whole movie at once is hard.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 15 years?

A: We’ll probably still be here. We don’t plan to retire anytime soon, we’re able to work and we love our work so I think we’ll keep doing that. We may take more time off and travel because we like to travel.

Q: Is there anything you’d like people to know about you that I haven’t asked?

A: Not that I can think of at the moment.
