Meet Sanjana Jhunjhnuwala.
Q: What were your first thoughts when you drove into Sedona for the very first time?
A: The first impact was ‘wow’, the Red Rocks I felt goosebumps which I didn’t tell anybody, because they felt it was just another place to visit. We just came to Sedona for 2 days, I wanted to see everything possible which we did. Once I went back to NJ I knew I had to come back to Sedona (I don’t know why and I still don’t know why) We came back two times. Now that I am living in Sedona, everything is just amazing!
Q: What is your favorite thing about Sedona?
A: Just the natural beauty of everything around you, so open, fresh air, red rocks. I don’t have words to describe the beauty , coming from a city where life is monotonus and you have a routine that never changes. I am totally relaxed living in Sedona! It is good living here!
Q: You love to paint, what motivates you to sit down and do it?
A: I just love it, it’s a good past time. Seeing the final product makes me feel ‘wow’, I did that!
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Sedona?
A: I’ve met lots of really nice people here. Coming from New Jersey where I had so many people to rely on but here in Sedona there’s nobody but ever since I met Jonelle Klein which I consider family and someone I can lean on. Also the connection was there immediately and Jonelle’s laugh is really addicting(she laughs and you laugh). As we got to know her better with the house that she showed us she literally showed us the whole of Sedona, that way we really got to see which locations is beautiful and prefect for staying in Sedona and that’s what we found and that’s because of her.
Q: Is there one thing that you wished you learned earlier in life?
A: I had known that Sedona existed 10 or 15 years back, maybe before kids went off to college.
Q: When your kids or family comes to visit, where do you take them?
A: Hiking to Sugar Loaf, it’s an easy hike but when you get at the top it’s a 360-degree views. You can just sit there and relax, it’s not too high, not too scary, it doesn’t take long..it’s just so amazing!
Q: How would your closest friends described you?
A: Very impulsive, very blunt because I just say what’s on my mind and then fun ‘coz I like to have fun and laugh!
Q: Besides Sedona, what other one spot holds something dear to you?
A: Thailand, that’s one place where I can feel I belong. I love the food, the people are really nice and when you’re there you also have this feeling of serenity and calmness, it’s just beautiful.
