MEET DAX WARD

Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?

A: Hair mainly, but I am working on a business or a career in jewelry.

Q: How do you sell your jewelry?

A: I sell it online. I might go to a trade fair in Japan where this would do best. Japan has a lot of extremes, and my jewelry is on the extreme side.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Sedona, and what do you love there?

A: I love The Vault currently, it’s a new one in town, and I like it a lot.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in Sedona?

A: I have lived and worked in Sedona for 21 years.

Q: Who is the most exciting person you’ve met here in Sedona?

A: My buddy Jonathan Ketting he runs an electric bike shop in town. He is a happy go lucky, middle-aged guy, super fun and upbeat. He is a spiritual/business guy and a realist at the same time.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?

A: Japan for business reasons, but I just want to see it. I would like to see Himeji Castle and the Big Battle of Samurai. I wouldn’t mind meeting the Sensei of my art Dr. Atsumi. Things like that – in Japan – appeals to me.

Q: What is your favorite movie, OR what is the first movie you remember seeing in a theatre?

A: Either Inception or Pulp Fiction. Inception is a flawless movie, in my opinion. It is one of the most brilliant films.

Q: What advice would you give to people?

A: Life is a game, but take it seriously.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

A: Kite surfing in Maui.

Q: What is your favorite music/ three bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?

A: Lately, I’ve been listening to Idiom, Dubstep, or Bassnectar is my favorite. I also love Die Antwoord, it’s an African gang’s rap, And One, which is an industrial dance band from Germany. I enjoy the old 1930’s or 1940’s music like Chuck Miller and his orchestra.

Q: What makes you the most nostalgic about Sedona?

A: I used to do a lot of camping in the Canyon with my Dad.

Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why?

A: Maybe Hitler, I think it could be fun to aggravate him.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Sedona?

A: I like the fact that you would see a retired Department of Defense CEO socializing with the biggest hippy you ever met. There is such diversity here.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?

A: More travel and hopefully successful with my jewelry.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

A: I think I am very goofy, I guess, especially with the individual animals that we have. Mainly it’s been with my dog that died Noodles and then my new dog, Goony. I have a big soft spot for animals.

Q: What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word ‘HOME’?

A: Security, Comfort, and Work.

Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?

A: Jim Carrey would be fun.

Q: If you had a full-time staff member that was fully paid for, who would you choose? (Chef, Housekeeper, Driver, Coach, Physical Fitness Trainer, or Nanny?)

A: Chef, everybody would be a lot healthier if they had a Chef.
