Q: What led you to your current career?
A: I am a retired nurse practitioner. My career encompasses clinical care, trauma, nurse surgery, and bone marrow transplant. I was burned out but became interested in acupuncture. I wanted to heal myself of migraines. I signed up for classes and have never looked back.

Q:  What is one of your favorite restaurants in Sedona?
A: I cook a lot, but I like to meet friends at the  Pump House Station and sit on their patio. Also, Rene’s is beautiful, and their patio is lovely too.

Q:  How long have you lived or worked in Sedona?
A: I have been in Sedona for almost five years. I was a nurse practitioner in San Diego, but that’s been a while now. I also worked at the Chopra Center, that’s closed now. I did both Ayurveda treatments and acupuncture and had a private clinic. I closed it when a client asked me to come and live here in Sedona.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met in Sedona?
A: I think Sedona has a pretty eclectic mix of people. My neighbor, Joy, works at Stillpoint, and she does some fascinating things with essential oils. Angela, from the Golden Bone, has been so consistent in her care of animals. Also, Leslie Vogel is an excellent therapist, and we collaborate with several clients together.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: I would go back to Ireland. I went there when I was 18. I want to visit a lot of spiritual places in Ireland. Also, I was in Japan two years ago, and I would go back to Kyoto. That was amazing! Though, maybe not right now with the Corona Virus. I would love to see Thailand, Korea, and perhaps go back to Australia since I’ve lived in Brisbane, Queensland, for two years.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies?
A: I love “Out of Africa.” I love the scenery, the music, and the story.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: I would tell them to ‘keep it simple’… that whatever you do consistently every day as your discipline is the result that you’re going to see.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: Travel is a big part of my bucket list. I’ll be going to Cyprus this year to start a two-year qigong training, which is pretty exciting.

Q: What is your favorite music?
A: I listen to oldies, new stuff, and some country. I am all over the place.

Q: What makes you nostalgic about Sedona?
A: I feel a relief when I come back and notice how quiet Sedona is. Where I live, it is tranquil, the rocks, nature, and the open spaces. I appreciate that quiet, small-town life.

Q:  If you could choose anyone, with whom would you love to have lunch? Why?
A: If I could go back in time or bring somebody forth, I would probably have lunch with my grandmother again. I think there were a lot of questions that I was too young to ask. I would be curious to open that conversation.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Sedona?
A: I love the energy here. We seem to come here to do our own healing. In a lot of ways, I believe I found my true self and I am happy being here.

Q: Where do you see yourself in five years?
A: I have several different ideas. It would revolve around work because I am passionate about wellness coaching. My work involves people who have debilitating chronic illnesses or organ failure from diabetes. To empower them and watch how they change their life choices is exciting.

Q: What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: Home is the calm out of the storm. I try to create a peaceful home with my three dogs.

Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, whom would you choose?
A: Gerard Butler is charming. Also, Meryl Streep would be pretty amazing.

Q: If you could have a full-time staff member, whom would you choose?  (Chef, Housekeeper, Driver, Coach, Physical Fitness Trainer, or Nanny?)
A: A Chef. I like to cook, but it would be lovely to have someone prepare a nice meal for me.
