Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
A: I’ve always seen spirits as a child. I took a class reading tarot cards because I thought it would be fun. I am a Psychic Medium. I do psychic readings, tarot cards, and I also do mediumship. I’ve been doing this kind of work for a little over 24 years. It just happened. I was pushed into it because everybody wanted a reading, and before I knew it, it became a business. I started working in San Diego and then came to Sedona. I have my own company, called Jewels of Sedona and I do psychic and mediumship readings. My clients are from all over. When they are here, I will go to where they are staying. If my client is local, I will go to their home. I also do readings over the phone. Please checkout my website, jewelsofsedona.com
Q: How long have you lived or worked in Sedona?
A: I’ve lived here for almost 18 years. I moved to Sedona with my sister, brother-in-law, and my ex-husband. It was on a whim. I had been here so many times and just fell in love with Sedona. It was a dream come true!
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Sedona?
A: Gerardo’s. I love Gerardo and his wife. They both make you feel at home and of course, the food is fantastic. Italian food is my favorite. Second is Tii Gavo at Enchantment Resort. The food is good, and the atmosphere is romantic. I love sitting outside and listen to the guitar player and watching the stars.
Tell me a little bit about your family.
A: My sister, Shondra Jepperson, is a singer, actress, and songwriter. She’s amazing! I look up to her; she’s my idol. Tom, my brother-in-law, is also an entertainer, a fantastic singer, and works at Blazin M Ranch. My mother passed away, but she was also a psychic and a healer. It’s a family talent that we have.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Sedona?
A: Terrie Frankel. I knew her sister, Jennie, who passed away, and I used to hang out with them fifteen years ago. They have such an interesting past. Terrie has so many stories to tell. If you are coming to Sedona, you have to ask about “Lucy’s House” because it is the best.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: I’ve been there already, but I go back all the time; it’s New Orleans. I love New Orleans. There’s something about it – the people are beautiful, good-hearted, and kind. The food’s excellent, and there’s a lot of psychics and music. I consider it home – other than Sedona.
Q: What’s your favorite movie?
A: I’ll name two movies that I’ve seen over and over again. “Ghost” – I love that one because there was such a connection in trying to reach a loved one. I relate to that because it’s what I do. I talk to spirits, and it touches me. The next one is “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” because it just makes me laugh – it’s light and cute.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: We’re all souls; we’re all connected, and we all have to live in this world together. Many are going through hard times, so be compassionate. Be understanding because we need that. Also, life is short. Enjoy life and have balance. I want to know that I did everything I could to make life better.
Q: If there’s anything that you could change about yourself, what would that be?
A: My fear of public speaking. I want to be able to speak in public and do a group mediumship. That’s my goal.
Q: What do you consider your superpower?
A: Talking to people and making them feel comfortable.
Q: What is your favorite music/ three bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: I love Lady Gaga, the Rolling Stones, Jennifer Lopez, and Elton John. I like a variety of music. And of course, I love Tom and Shondra.
Q: What is something that you love about Sedona?
A: I love Sedona’s beauty, spirituality, energy, and people. I have the most amazing friends and acquaintances. Everyone has interesting stories about how they got here. I couldn’t see myself anywhere else other than New Orleans.
Q: Choosing anyone who would you have lunch with and why?
A: I would like to meet with Psychics and Mediums. I want to talk to them and learn from them. John Edward is someone who I admire. Chip Coffey is an excellent medium. Tyler Henry – I absolutely adore that kid – he’s on TV and a psychic medium. So, I would like to have lunch with all of them.
Q: What does a perfect day look like to you?
A: My perfect day would be to wake up rested, meditate, write my intentions, start my work, talk to my amazing clients, take a little break and be in nature either hiking or sitting outside. Then go back to work, talk to more amazing clients, visit with friends, hang out, and have a glass of wine.
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: A lot of people don’t know that I am Shondra’s sister. They also think I am just visiting. I want people to know that we moved here together. I am in a different career now, but I used to be in entertainment as well. I was also a Physical Fitness Trainer and worked in three gyms in San Diego. I am really into fitness and having a balance. I love spending time with my dogs and with people around me. Another thing people don’t know is that Shondra was more like my mom growing up. That’s why we’re so close. My mom was an agent – she would be out all night working and dealing with clients, and Shondra was always there for me.
Q: When you look into the mirror, what do you see?
A: I’m a nice person, I’m loving, I’m caring, and I just want what’s best for people, so that’s what I see in myself. I want to help as many people as I can.
Q: What words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: Tranquility, Peaceful, Loving, and Heart-centered.
Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?
A: Nicolas Cage – I love that guy, and I want to have lunch with him as well! I would ask him about his life, his relationships, and I have a feeling that there’s a lot more to him – deep down – and he’s not as bad as people think he is.
Q: Can you tell us about your dogs?
A: Right now, I have two little puppies, one’s three and one is four- Cookie and Cupcake. They’re my daughters because I don’t have any kids. They are ‘my everything’ and have been a joy. They are funny, cute, and I hope they will live a very long life.
Q: If you had a full-time staff member, whom would you choose? Chef, Housekeeper, Driver, Coach, Physical Fitness Trainer, or Nanny?
A: I would love to have a Physical Fitness Trainer or an assistant because that’s a big thing right now. I’ve been so busy that I keep thinking that an assistant would pop in to help me—also, a Chef to cook healthy food and sushi.
